Here’s one of the most soothing soaps for your sensitive skin, a favorite on the sunny slopes and beaches of Italy. Months ago, I was presented with a "new, natural" carrot soap which sounded like a promising product. However, I needed to put it through the grind - so to speak - and see for myself. Lab analysis and extensive testing resulted in unsatisfactory results.

The soap contained ingredients I do not want to see in my products. It contained tetrasodium EDTA which is cytotoxic enough to make it undesirable to apply to the skin, even if it's contained in a bar of soap. It contained linalool, a substance that should be avoided by those with parfume allergies, and it also contained limonene, often used in cleaning products to give them a strong lemony-orange fragrance. Limonene can be quite irritating to the skin.

So these are the main reasons this particular soap was rejected. I will continue to offer the Valobra carotene soap because it is the most unadulterated carrot soap your money can buy. Period.
